Eefje (°1978, Louvain/Belgium) grew up in Antwerp and Limburg. At the age of 12, she began an art-school education in Antwerp. Several years later she continued this study in
Hasselt/Limburg, where she received a 'Master in Painting' degree. Now she is a teacher at the Visual Arts Academy in Maasmechelen and gives her knowledge to people of all ages.
Eefje: "I like painting, drawing and photography. My work is a progress of several years. In the early years my work was a reference to my own life. The subjects seem to struggle with their bodies and want to have contact with a dreamworld, where they want to express their feelings and emotions. At this moment I'm researching how to express how an individual (person or animal) reacts to its environment. My goal is to show the individual's feelings through its facial expressions or body language.
